SPORTS INJURIES

  • KNEE LIGAMENT AND CARTILAGE (meniscus) are damaged frequently and may need key hole Arthroscopic surgery to repair the injury and allow early return to sports.
  • ACL tear needs reconstruction using another tendon around the knee as it cannot be stitched back. Neglected ACL or Meniscus injuries can lead to painful arthritis at early age(if left untreated).
  • Shoulder dislocations and cuff muscle tear may need surgical repair if damage is extensive. Ankle ligament injuries can take a long time to heal and may need prolonged protection and physical therapy in severe cases.
  • Injuries to sportsmen need to be treated promptly and are encouraged more aggressive physical therapy to allow early return to sports, hence the need to use smaller incision and more precision during surgery.
